Federal Representation

DC has one non-voting Delegate in the U.S. House and three "shadow" representatives — two shadow Senators and one shadow Representative — created by 1990 ballot initiative to lobby for statehood. Shadow officials have no seat, vote, office, or salary in Congress.

DC State Board of Education

Nine members elected nonpartisan to four-year staggered terms. The Board sets state-level academic standards. It does not run schools — that is OSSE (state agency) and DCPS / charter authorizers (operators).

Records

Council voting record on tracked bills

How each current Council member voted on three flagship 2024–2025 bills. The Sanctuary Values Repeal pause (June 2025 committee action) and FY26 Budget final reading (July 28, 2025, 10–2) are tracked in the backlog as future additions — the aggregate tallies are public but per-member breakdowns require deeper LIMS work.

Not in office(·) means the member did not hold a Council seat at the time of the vote — most commonly Doni Crawford (At-Large interim, appointed Jan 2026), Wendell Felder (won Ward 7 special after the Secure DC vote), and Trayon White (expelled Feb–Aug 2025). Historical members' votes from those vacancies are recorded by the source but not shown in this current-roster matrix.
